I would say yes. Walking the neighborhood with a dog is still a deterent to a would be badguy. Also I would venture to guess that if technology has progressed to the point of eliminating k9's from service then why do we still use them? We have Police K9's, Military K9's, bomb sniffing, Narc dogs, SAR dog teams and the list goes on. Look at the modern day terrorists... as the world ramps up technologically they throw the cell phones in the trash. They go low tech and get off the grid. A good tracking dog will find them with or with out a electronic signiture. No I would say the dog days are not done, not even close. | |

I agree with Jason on all points. I think K-9s will always be useful to mankind. Alarms simply dont work. Below is something I wrote about alarms and dogs awhile back.
